CEO (Cat Executive Officer)
Nousha is the cat in charge. People often ask why she became the figure-cat of our op-purrr-ration, when trying to choose a name for the company Lionel & Claire thought of all sorts of silly snappy names watched patiently by Nousha (the Norwegian forest cat) until they finally came to their senses and realised it made the purrfect name for their new business. We've been told since that it means sweet or lovely in Persian (no more purr jokes I promise) which is very lucky indeed. We have also been told it makes us sound like a swimwear brand, we are not sure what Nousha thinks about that....
Photographer & Owner
A professional photographer for over thirty years, classically trained in the art of portrait photography he specialised in photographing the Britsh royal family for twenty years.
"From the young age of eleven I was encouraged to take pictures by my father, I learnt my trade at Camera Press ‘the’ leading photographic agency in the world at the time. I worked my way up through the agency (tea-maker, messenger, darkroom) to become their staff photographer for seven years.
At Camera Press I photographed the great and the good (and the not so good) Politicians, Actors, Authors, Artists in fact almost everything and everyone (I am more than happy to ramble on about it all when you come for your shoot).
With the arrival of the bright young Lady Diana I chose to specialise in photographing the British Royal Family.
I did so for nearly twenty years. Accredited and invited by Buckingham Palace to cover official UK Royal rota engagements and Royal Tours to seventy countries, so you could at a stretch say your family pictures are almost ‘By Appointment’ (Don’t suppose the Palace would be very pleased about that though) I was Royal Correspondent for Sipa Press Agency in Paris for more than ten years.
I am quite capable of making a complete prune of myself just to get a giggle from you and your children, I am not scary at all and seem to have the patience of a saint with children (the checkout queue at the supermarket is a different matter altogether). My wife Claire and I run Nousha Photography together."
Claire trained as a photographer at Falmouth College of Arts and then worked as a portrait photographer in London where she met Lionel and they decided to start Nousha together. She is also in charge of writing this page about everyone and is far too embarrassed to write anything more about herself...
Administration & Events Manager
Nousha wouldn't exist without Zoe keeping us all organised, she manages our events, oversees everything in the office and conducts most of the viewing appointments to show customers their images.
Studio Manager & Photographer
Tilly was hired for her extraordinary existing portfolio and her tenacity and stubbornness when applying for a job with us, a refreshing thing to see!
"Working in a clinic for children with special needs developed my ability to engage with children of all backgrounds and life experiences, It also helped me to develop the patience needed to capture a peaceful moment with a child who may need that extra time or a little extra help to tell me about their favourite toy."
Office Admin Assitant/Booker
Any time you give us a call or drop us an email Margarita is here to help. Margarita runs the reception desk at our studio and loves working alongside our funny and positive team. She's even grown to love the daily struggle with our very temperamental coffee machine.
Head of Production
Our wonderfully talented Radostina started out here as a retoucher 4 years ago and has progressed into the role of Head of Production, where she has taken the Nousha house style and made it sing! Her favourite thing about Nousha is our contemporary style and the timeless black and white pictures we create, which she carefully signs off herself.
Every image purchased here at Nousha is retouched by Sarah & Radostina, Sarah is now even printing all of our beautiful images for framing! Having worked at Nousha for 16 months now, she enjoys hearing all the hilarious stories the children share and working as part of a friendly and passionate team!
Dean has been sharing with us his 30 years of framing experience he came to us from John Jones (amazing framers). Even after 30 years Dean loves building frames, especially at Nousha which offers an array of different frames for him to get creative with!
Having worked predominantly freelance throughout his career Mike is really enjoying being part of the Nousha team.
