I had seen the announcement in the papers, an exhibition at the V&A celebrating Pink Floyd, I literally jumped on my computer and booked tickets, I think it was almost a year ago! But we were in! dada...
Boy what an absolute delight this was, the work they have put into making this an immersive experience is second to none, the sets are impeccably constructed as you meander through the Floyds history, for me the early 60's was not my time, the excitement was palpable though as I approached the mid 70's section, Atom Heart Mother, Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Wish you were here.
The audio guide they give you works remarkably well, as you enter a zone the narration changes for that particular zone, the music transports you.
I was enthralled at the section devoted to the Knebworth, a festival I had attended in 1975, memories came flooding back, I was only 15!
I cannot commend this exhibition highly enough if you like Pink Floyd you must go... Oh, and there is some shopping afterwards! Though they had sold out of the toy van grrrr....
Pink Floyd's van.
The exhibiton is on at the V&A until 1st October 2017.
